Zimbabwe is one of the promising Southern African economies. However, since the beginning of the new millennium the once vibrant education system in the country has been sliding down due to the deteriorating political and economic environment. The formerly well government supported public schools became less viable with the government failing to nourish them leaving the education system in a sorry state in the country. This state of affairs has affected the vulnerable, especially women and the girl-child most. Riverflow Global Foundation Zimbabwe (RGFZ) was therefore established to empower disadvantaged Zimbabwean women, girls and WWDs through: raising school fees for women, the girlchild, and WWDs right from primary school to tertiary education; advocating for women, the girl-child, and WWDs education and professional training to make them productive and optimise their contribution to socio-economic development of the country; providing women, the girl-child, and WWDs access to quality education and professional training so that they are equipped with skills to contribute to the development of the country; providing women, the girl-child and WWDs access to sexual and reproductive health education, resources, and facilities to to ensure that they are health and fit for the socio-economic development task; and organising and facilitating transnational educational and training exchange programmes for women, the girl-child and WWDs so that they are always up to date with international trends.
